I will always love the January event. It is so much fun. This time was no different. We had a knighting and a company tournament. Which means I did not have to swing foam at all. I just walked around with my camera (pictures to follow).
As in the case of most events I was "working" most of the time. It is not really work to me. I have fun taking pictures and making food. I do not really have a lot of fun fighting. I will cheer on my husband when he is fighting but that is as close as I really want to get. Luckily, our kingdom needs both types of players in their ranks. Suita us to a tee.
I did breakfast on Saturday morning and had wonderful support. I will admit I was a little worried but it all came together and everyone was fed. I was promptly then kicked from the kitchen for a short lie down and then off for photos of the company tournament. Loads happened there and loads to learn from lots of people. I think that even the cross gamers were impressed. I really think they were impressed with our food program. I mean we feed our players right, no one goes hungry in our feast.
Speaking of feast will bring us to court. Queen Tree did something unusual to keep court quick, or quicker I should say. Lower level orders she gave out to people as they ate. It was nice to see her bouncing from table to table giving smiles to everyone. Larger awards were given during the actual court time. We had several titles to give out and a few Masters also! I had 4 very special awards given to friends. Sir Venus was given her 0th Rose. Tree was given her Master Rose, which is a big deal. Deryk received his Count title, very nice scroll done by a dear friend. But I think the biggest thing may have been the Master Garber for my friend Donnie. This I did not know about ahead of time, in fact Venus only told the Queen I think that she would be giving him this award. I am so happy for him, and I know he is pleased with the honor.
The biggest part of court for this weekend was the Knighting of a fellow house member. Shalazzar received his CROWN belt. This was only the 3rd knighting that I have seen. I love that we have so many traditions to follow during the ceremony. It was amazing to see so many emotions on so many people. All and all I could not think of anyone else who deserved it more. I doubt he will kick back into retirement, so I look forward to what see he will accomplish in our Kingdom.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event a huge success!!

1 week away from an event
We are a week away from the next big event and I going to try a get some sewing projects done. I need to finish off the pants for a friend. I also want to make some sleepwear that looks different. I am going to be making them out of an old flat sheet that Deryk does not like to sleep with. HA! He will still have to deal with the sheets. I am going to use a simplicity pattern but hopefully line it up so that the pretty lace work will be on my pants and sleeves.
At the event I will be the normal shutter bug and also being working in the kitchen. I was going to bake a cake and enter into the A&S contest but I don't think I am going to have the prep time for it. I will hold off for another event.
I am looking forward to this event. Husband and I will be in a tent which is always fun!

I have found the hitch in our Kingdom
As you may know my husband is the current Prime Minster of Neverwinter. I am gleefully counting down the days to when this will no longer be so. He is wonderful at his duties. He has had some issues but that is to be expected with any first term. What we were not expecting was how horribly members of Kingdom and Principality treat their officers. I am honestly ashamed! I have seen that every time one of the officer post that they are going to be doing an aspect of their job be it an event, needing paperwork, or creating a more interesting aspect of the game that we have people trolling them to argue just to argue. Now, I ask you how is that helpful? I know "troll" is a negative term but it applies to those who argue and argue but do not step up and help. There is no point in undermining every officer post, it just makes you look like a TROLL!
There are ways to avoid being seen as that TROLL. Lead by example, you don't like the way it is being done well then suggest a new way of doing it. This suggestion may not be done that time around but who knows it may in the future. The other way is to just lead. Take the office yourself. You will gain more respect by actually holding the office instead of constantly niggling those in office. Perk to this is you also can say "When I held your office....whine".
To those who do not want to improve or lead the group. Well, SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING TROLLS!
