Long time no see!

I don't think I have built up any form of a following on here.  Which is a shame?  I should try harder.  I have a horrible habit of walking away from projects if I get a little lost.  Today I have roamed back to my blog.  I am updating some of the info on me and general housekeeping here.  Digital spring cleaning I think.  Nothing I am changing will be too glaring, just little things in my profile and what not.

Sun and Energy time
This past weekend was my first Ostara celebration and it has inspired my return.  I have been a solitary practitioner in my Wiccan/Magic practice but this was my first group event.   It was interesting being out of the "broom" closet with friends and in a safe space.  I was even allowed to layout my tarot deck on the altar to soak up the sun and the energy of the ritual.  I was also asked/volunteered to call a quarter.  That was a push for me because I am so nervous around so many new people.  It ended up being lovely and I look forward to the next event.
Enjoying the sun!

I have not actually done my Ostara spread yet.  I thought about doing one at the brunch but I did not want to be the only one to have their cards out and reading.  I have found that if I am the only one reading then everyone will ask for reading and I was just too drained by the weekend to do that.  So I will be doing that later in the week and posting a picture on IG.  I have not decided on the spread yet.  I have seen Biddy Tarot has one out but I think I may poke about today and chose the one.

I have found a new tarot podcast that sounds really nice.  Wildy Tarot on Stitcher is great.  I am listening to their "A Good Place to Start" episode and it is like sitting at a table listening to them talk, laugh, and enjoy tarot.

I love to bake!

I was very happy with my successful muffin bar at the last event.  I love doing breakfast because I can BAKE!  I like to bake.  It is fun.  So now I am thinking ahead to what I want to try next time or even sooner.

I have been reading post on Inn at the Crossroads for ideas and found one that makes my mouth just water.  Honeyed Cakes.  Oh my sweet seven these sound so good!(see what I did there)  I cannot wait to have a free bake day to try them out!

Elizabethan Honeycake Recipe

Elizabethan Almond Cakes- Take one peck of flower, one pound of sugar, one pound of almons, beaten & strained with as much ale as will stiffen your paste, put theirto three spoonfulls of barme, & a few annisseds, then woork it well together, then make it in little cakes, prick them thick for rising & bake them. Elinor Fettiplace’s Receipt Book, 1604
Makes about 12 buns

Prep: 10 minutes Rising: 1.5 hour, minimum Baking: 15 minutes
Our changes: No aniseseeds, don’t like ’em. You are more than welcome to include them if you do, however. We basically used the original recipe, but added honey to the batter, as well as soaking the cakes in honey for a while.

Ingredients:
up to 3 1/2 cups flour
3 Tbs. honey
2 tsp. sugar
3 Tbs. ground almonds
1 packet yeast, or 2 1/4 tsp.
1/2 pint ale (1 bottle)
pinch of salt
honey for soaking, probably around 1/2 cup at least

Dissolve the yeast in the warmed ale, and leave to froth up. Grind the almonds and sugar in a food processor, then combine with the flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a small well in the mixture, and pour in the yeasty ale. Adding the flour a bit at a time, work everything all together until it is a nice smooth, pliable consistency leave in a warm place until it has doubled in size. After it has risen, knock it down and knead it for a few minutes before shaping it into around 10 small buns.
Allow the buns to rise again for at least 15 minutes, then bake in a preheated oven for 10-20 minutes at 375 degrees F. The buns should be just slightly golden.
Using a small paring knife, cut a small hole (about 1/2″) in the tops of the buns, poking well down into the cake, but taking care to not poke all the way through. Take a small spoon and carefully fill each hole with honey. You may need to do this several times as the honey soaks into the cake. Put in at least 1 Tbs. honey per cake.

If you have not been to her blog, go read, and enjoy!

Summer Corronation at Eustis

It always fun to go to the big events, but man does it take the life out of a girl.  I had a blast and meet many more interesting people.  I did not think it was possible to meet more people but indeed I did.

I was not out much with the camera at this event.  Instead I was in watching the Dragon Master judging and being their runner/task master.  We have such talented A&S people here in Neverwinter that made so much stuff.  There were 60+ entries for the competition.  I do like the fact we had the Dragon Master out in the open but "roped" off.  That way everyone could see what was entered.  Deryk did really well taking both Best in Show for his bardic singing of Red is the Rose (he made all the girls cry) and won the overall event!  I am very proud of him and hopefully he will sit the next one out and let others excel.

Look he has a tail!
I did run out and take a few shots of the battle game.  The whole weekend was an RP event.  I and the husband were both on team Cronos.  But sadly we did not win.  Team Zeus got the glory of the win for the weekend.  Everyone I talked to was loving the games that were designed.

As always Saturday night was our feast, which was supper yummy.  Venus did an excellent job running the kitchen.  I helped a little with doctoring hummus that Sir Squire had acquired.   Over all feast was a great success and I want to say thank you to everyone who pitched in to get it all ready!

One of the big highlights of the weekend was that Husband and I were both invited to belt families.  He is now a Man at Arms for Sir Nocturne Karuwhogod and I am a Man at Arms to Sir Venus Hunuwhogod.  Yep, we are belted to married knights!  Heehee just makes me giggle.  Deryk also received his Lord title.  So, he had a great event and I am very happy and proud of him.

*edit* I have changed my reaction buttons below just for giggles.
